A Christmas Message from Catholic Charities Executive Director

Our mission is to provide a path to well-being through support and empowerment, and I truly believe that for so many families who walk through our doors, that is what they find here at Catholic Charities. Whether they are searching for immediate assistance or resources, a career that will help them support their families, counseling and parenting classes, or support for additional family members, the path is accessible to all. The challenge is great because our society promotes autonomy and self-reliance, yet deep in our hearts we know that many times we need the strength of others to build a stronger community. Every person in need is worthy of care and compassion, and Jesus sets the ultimate and perfect example for us to follow. May we boldly live up to the challenge to see others through the lens of God’s unwavering love.

 

The Advent and Christmas season gives us every opportunity to strengthen our relationship with God. As we await in joyful expectation the birth of Jesus, may our hearts be focused on being a person of hope and optimism. Make a commitment to find a way to lift another person’s spirit, using the gifts and talents that God has given you to spread joy during this season. Join as we search for new and innovative ways to walk in solidarity with those most in need.
