Catholic Charities Announces Organizational Restructuring

Catholic Charities of Lubbock, a local organization dedicated to serving our neighbors on the South Plains who are experiencing poverty, homelessness, hunger, crisis, and trauma, is pleased to announce a strategic reorganization aimed at enhancing its operational efficiency and furthering its mission. As part of this restructuring, members of the Catholic Charities team will receive new job titles, reflecting their invaluable contributions and leadership within the organization. Effective immediately, the following individuals will assume their new titles, as listed below:

 

Cynthia Quintanilla, Executive Director 

Michael Perez Granger,  Chief Operations Officer

Jennifer Lopez,  Chief Programs Officer  

Erin Baxter, Chief Development Officer

Carol Alonzo, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer

 

Cynthia Quintanilla started her career with Catholic Charities in 1996. Her first role with the organization was as an Administrative Assistant. In 2014, Quintanilla was named Executive Director. She will continue serving as the leader of the organization, strategically guiding a staff of over 40 team members in serving some of the most vulnerable populations in our community.

 

Michael Perez Granger began his career with Catholic Charities in May 2021. As Chief Operations Officer, Granger will continue to help guide the day-to-day administrative, financial and operational functions of the agency, with the goal of elevating the organization and empowering the leadership team to make an impact on the community.

 

Jennifer Lopez has been with Catholic Charities 16 years. She worked as a Case Manager with the Family and Youth Success program for 14 years, and  was promoted to FAYS Program Director in June of 2022. In her new role as Chief Programs Officer, Lopez will oversee all Catholic Charities programs including the FAYS, Kinship Navigation, Emergency Assistance, Parent Empowerment, and Legal Immigration program, as well as the Resale Center.

 

Erin Baxter started with Catholic Charities as the Director of Development in October 2023. As Chief Development Officer, Baxter will oversee Catholic Charities’ philanthropy program to advance the agency’s mission and work by securing local, state, and national grants, along with leading strategic fundraising efforts, donor relationships, and stewardship of funding. Baxter is actively working towards expanding Catholic Charities’ philanthropy program.

 

Carol Alonzo began working with Catholic Charities in August 2021. As Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, Alonzo will continue to bring awareness of the agency’s mission through brand management, utilizing the organization’s website, social media, and other marketing efforts. Alonzo will also continue overseeing volunteer activities within the organization.
