Catholic Charities Holds First Family Strengthening Workshop

The first Family Strengthening Workshop, from a series of nine, took place on April 19th in the Catholic Charities conference room.  The workshop was led by Catholic Charities' Family and Youth Services Program Director, Rachel Faz.   Watch the video below for highlights from the workshop:

 

“Strengthening Families” is an evidence-based family skills training program for high-risk and general population families that is recognized both nationally and internationally.  Families are invited and encouraged to participate all of the workshops, which take place the third Tuesday of each month from Noon to 1:30 p.m.  Upcoming dates and topics are listed below:

MAY 17 - Communicate with Love & Understanding

JUNE 21 - Rules, Rewards, & Responsibilities

JULY 19 - Positive Discipline Improves Good Behavior

AUGUST 16 - Problem Solving & Win-Win Negotiation

SEPTEMBER 20 - Stress & Anger Management Skills

OCTOBER 18 - Goals & Contracts to Change Behavior;

No Alcohol, Tobacco, or Other Drugs

NOVEMBER 15 - Choosing Good Friends & Monitoring Activities

DECEMBER 20 - Fun Traditions, Service & Family Values

 

Lunch is provided. Childcare and transportation assistance is also available.
