On Wednesday, April 20, Catholic Charities was honored to be part of the Child Abuse Prevention Roundtable.  The event, hosted by Buckner Family Hope Center, was an opportunity to discuss how prevention programs work, how to encourage public and private investment in these programs, and hopes for the future of these programs.

 

Participants in the Roundtable included local and state leaders including, Jaime Masters, DFPS Commissioner, Senator Charles Perry, Rep. John Frullo, and Rep. Dustin Burrows.

 

Panel representatives from Catholic Charities were Cynthia Quintanilla, Executive Director and Terri Rodriguez, Kinship Navigator Program Director.

 

Catholic Charities of Lubbock has several programs in place to support families including the Family and Youth Success (FAYS) program, which provides counseling services for youth in crisis, the Kinship Navigation program, which supports family members who are raising children who are not biologically theirs, and the Family Support Program, which encourages family engagement through activities, workshops, and peer support.
