Terri Rodriguez Receives State Award for Support of Kinship Families

Catholic Charities' Kinship Navigation Program Director, Terri Rodriguez, received the 2022 Champion for Children and Families Award from the Prevention and Early Intervention Division of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

The award presentation took place at the 2022 Partners in Prevention Conference in Corpus Christi, Texas in September.  

 

The Champions for Children and Families Award is presented to one individual who demonstrates exceptional achievement in the following areas:

 - outstanding committment to the mission and vision of the program

- deep understanding of the aspirations of the youth and parents/caregivers they serve and the ability to empower clients in meeting their individual goals

- helping clients meet goals through referrals, service connections, and community partnerships

- bringing additional contributions or innovations to their community

 

Terri has been instrumental in bringing awareness to the issues kinship families face including economic and legal issues.  She has created support and alliance groups to ensure that kinship families get connected to much needed resources.   Congratulations Terri, and thank you for all you do for area families.
